Split Systems

Split Systems

Split Systems are one of the most versatile systems as they can be used for both cooling and heating in many different living and working situations.

Split systems comprise 2 main components – a smaller fan unit located inside the room with the larger condenser unit (which does the cooling/heating work), located outside. When the system is set to cool, the warm air from inside the room is taken by the fan unit coil, removing the excess heat and resulting in cooler air being recirculated back into the room. If the unit provides heating as well, then it essentially works in reverse, taking in the cooler air and replacing it with cosy warm air.

Features of split systems include:

  1. They maximise the floor space in a room and have a small head section – generally high up on the wall and out of the way, with the larger unit then located outside and out of the way.

  2. The systems come in either a cooling or combined heating/cooling unit, so for some areas this can be the complete heating and cooling solution.

  3. Larger systems can support multiple head units in different rooms, thus providing variable control. This is a cost effective option where you only heat or cool the rooms in use.

  4. Having the compressor unit outside means that the inside head unit can be almost whisper quiet.

  5. Split systems are available in a wide range of sizes for a wide range of environments – from the small residential systems all the way up to large commercial use units. This means that regardless of the size of your area, a split system could be the right option.

  6. With a large selection of systems in the market, we only recommend systems which meet strict environmental and safety standards – meaning that they run on ozone-safe, non-flammable and energy efficient refrigerants.
